Fabric covered Cornice Board DIY

1. corniced board Width = windowwidth + 3 in; // 1.5 in for each side (including board thickness). 1" longitudinal from frame to Cornice inside; 8" top frame to lower side of cornice; 16" Cornice Board top to button
2. use T square to ensure nice straight cut
3. use either jit saw and handheld saw to cut the wood.
4. corniced board usually is 3/3.5 in from the wall.
5. other material: one top board/ tow side board.
6. assembly: corner bracket / and L bracket

Tool: drill, drii bit; #8 3/4 inch screw; laser measurement; anchor;
1. determine location of L bracket. if there is stud behind it. use screw directly; otherwise, use drywall anchor;
2.



shopping list:

- board: width 76'' (front) + 4.5*2 (left/right) = 84". thickness, 1''. depth >16.5 (front) +4.5(side) '' = 21''. so 84" by 21"" by 1" board.
- cutting: one 76 by 16.5 by 1" ; one 74" by 3.5" by 1"; two 16.5 by 3.5 by 1".
- Two corner brace,
- Four 1" L brackets.
- Twenty-six 3/4" wood screw
- For installation on wall: three 2" or 3" L brackets;
